About Us

Who are we?

We are a friendly Anglican church which worships God in the Catholic tradition. What does that mean? Well, our services try to engage not just our minds and hearts but also our senses:

sight

with the use of statues, pictures, and seasonal colours for church hangings and vestments

sound

with the use of music and readings

smell

with the use of sweet smelling incense

taste

with the bread and wine used in Holy Communion

Visitors and newcomers will receive a friendly welcome to any of our services.

What do we believe?

We believe in the mystery of the Holy Trinity - one God in Three Persons - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in
God the Father - the author of all creation.

We believe that
Jesus Christ is God’s only Son and that belief in Him is the only way to salvation. He was born in Bethlehem, He died for our sins on the cross, He was raised from the dead and will return in glory to judge heaven and earth.

We believe in the
Holy Spirit who gives life to His people.

We also believe that the Church of England is part of the Universal Church (along with other Christian denominations) and we subscribe to the ancient texts and traditions as handed down to us by earlier generations.
