St Mary's Choir

St Mary's choir is a friendly group of singers of mixed ages, which leads the worship at St Mary's.

Additional opportunities arise from time to time, such as performances of major choral works, and visits to sing in other churches. Occasionally the church holds major services which involve other choirs joining our own, the most recent such service was the Candlelit Advent Procession at 6:30 pm on Sunday 29 November 2009 where we were joined by members of the choirs of King Charles the Martyr and Christ Church Little Heath. The choir also assists with Christ Church's monthly Choral Evensong.

Usually any soloist required is drawn from our own choir rather than from outside. Two of our soloists have given recitals at our regular Lunchtime concerts which occur every first Tuesday of each month.

We are keen to recruit further members particularly so that we can increase our repertoire. Any voices are welcome, especially Altos and Tenors. No auditions are necessary.

St Mary's recital programme for 2010

St Mary's is a sought-after venue for concerts in Potters Bar and a full programme is performed using local musicians. Our Lunchtime Concerts have been running for more than 20 years and offer a popular programme of varied music and a ploughman's lunch on the first Tuesday of each month (lunches from noon, recital starts at 12:30).
